A man was arrested in Cottonwood Heights, Utah after he hit two cars while in the drive-thru line at the McDonald’s located on 7024 South Highland Drive.
After the man hit the two cars he accelerated at high rate in reverse and his truck went backwards on to Highland Drive.
The man, Stanley Shane Gurule then drove over a concrete barrier where his truck became stuck.
According to Fox 13:
“He entered Highland backwards,” said Sgt. Daugherty of Cottonwood Heights Police Department. “He reversed at a high rate of speed across seven lanes.”
Sgt. Daugherty said the incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday evening.
The driver, Gurule failed a field sobriety test and blew a .318 BAC almost four times the current legal limit of 0.08 BAC. He was booked into jail under one count of DUI with serious bodily injury.
A driver of one of the vehicles that was hit in the McDonald’s drive-thru complained of some minor pain, but was not given medical attention. Gurule was medically cleared by EMT’s and had no injuries to report.
