  • Shauna Lake KUTV DUI Channel 2 NewsShauna Lake who is the long time news anchor for KUTV Channel 2 was arrested at 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10th in Murray for Driving Under the Influence. Lake has been charged with a DUI, a class B Misdemeanor; and using license plates that were registered for a different vehicle, a class C Misdemeanor.

The license plates that were registered to another car is what got her pulled over. The trooper that pulled her over on I-215 near 1200 East ran her plates and and they were listed as canceled and were registered to a black  Land Rover, not a white Land Rover like she was driving.

The trooper reported that he could smell a “strong order of alcohol coming from the inside the vehicle and the driver’s eyes were blood shot”.

Lake had an empty clear plastic cup with a straw and when asked about it she said that she had split a beer with someone else and only had two sips before driving.

Shauna Lake DUIShe was then asked to perform a Field Sobriety Test and failed. During the Field Sobriety Test the trooper said Lake “left the starting position, stepped off the line, missed heel to toe, made an improper turn, and started the test too early”. During the One Leg Stand test the trooper reported Lake “swayed to the left and right, and put her foot down”.

Lake initially refused the onsite breathalyzer test, she later submitted to a chemical blood test at the Utah Highway Patrol Offices.

She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail and leased one hour later.

Shauna Lake has been an anchor for KUTV Ch.2 since 1994 and is an anchor for the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts.
