  • A woman in South Carolina was pulled over early August, 9th for driving 64 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

When the officer pulled her over they could tell that she had been drinking and suspected her for DUI. The police officer conducted three sobriety tests. The woman, Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw blew a 0.18 BAC three times over the 0.08 legal limit in South Carolina.

The police also found marijuana and rolling papers in her car.

She was arrested for DUI, speeding, not stopping at a stop sign, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    DUI White Girl

Once arrested Cutshaw had this to say to officers according to police reports:

“… a very clean, thoroughbred, white girl, I’ve never been arrested. Can’t you see that in your system? Can’t you see? I graduated from a really good university. I was almost the valedictorian… I went to a good school. I graduated with 3.8 in my high school and got a scholarship to my college. It’s a week from my birthday. Please, I’m a pretty girl. Please don’t make me go in there.”

When the officer asked what the thoroughbred comments meant, Cutshaw had this to say:

“You’re a cop… You should know what that means… You should know based on the people that come in this room.”

The police officers report had this written in regards to the comments:

“Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication.”

Regardless of Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, or Gender DUI penalties are very serious. Much like South Carolina, Utah has even harsher DUI penalties.
